Strawberry Festival

Live Music with a Beautiful Backdrop.

Arts in the Park

The Langhorne Council for the Arts hosted Arts in the Park on Sunday, June 2.  Artists displayed and sold their work.

I was in awe of the beautiful jewelry, woodwork, paintings, harp music, and photographs.

The Four Lanes End Garden Club also deserves a gold star for their wonderful landscaping.

Langhorne Hardware: A Business to Support

After years of being a wholesale dealer, H.S. "Hank" Carfagno opened Langhorne Hardware in 1974.

Tools, hardware, paint, nails, bulbs, and many other household items fill the many shelves and displays.  But, don't worry about finding something on your own because the guys at Langhorne Hardware know their inventory, and they know their craft.

They can help you find speciality items, they can repair your screen windows and lamps, and they can help you solve your DIY problems.

Last weekend, I was attempting to finishing the fence around my garden.  And, like in most DIY projects, I hit a roadblock: the diameter of the manila rope was slightly larger than the diameter of the pre-drilled hole.

George, the hardware store's manage, listened to my novice explanation of my dilemma. Then, he provided me with three options: 1. Redrill (which required the purchase of an expense new drill bit), 2. Sand (which required a lot of elbow grease), or 3. File (which required the purchase of a $4.99 rotary file that fits into my drill).

I am now the proud owner of a 1/2" Rotary file that is good "for cutting, shaping or forming."

There are only about five small privately owned hardware stores in Lower Bucks, and Carfagno owns two of them - Langhorne Hardware in Langhorne Borough and J.P. Cunningham's Hardware in Morrisville.

Carfagno not only knows the commercial side of the Borough, but he also knows the residential.  He grow up on Watson Ave.

Call Langhorne Hardware before heading off to the Coroprate Depot.
